Knowing how to iron a dress shirt properly requires some experience and determination. However, ironing is not the most difficult housekeeping task and it's possible to get excellent results only with a little bit of practice. Whether you are an expert or a beginner, these tips can be useful, in order to iron your shirts in the best way possible.
Step 1: drying
Get off on the right foot by hanging your shirt on a hanger right after washing to make the next ironing step easier! When your shirt is no longer wet, but humid, take it off the hanger and move on to the step 2. Don't let the shirt dry out completely, a humid shirt is simpler to iron.
Step 2: ironing
Start by ironing the collar, moving from the points of the collar towards the center and the pass on to the shoulders. Now iron the sleeves, first in the middle and then on the edges using a proper sleeve board, the unmistakable “small sized” ironing board, then proceed to the cuffs, with the buttons facing up. Now place the entire shirt on the ironing board, iron all the front side and then the backside.
