How to match a jacket and shirt
The jacket usually sets the dominant colour, texture and level of formality. The shirt should support it through controlled contrast, compatible patterns and a collar that works with the jacket structure.
Start with the jacket colour
Navy
White and light blue are the safest choices; soft pink, fine stripes and small checks add variety.
Grey
White, light blue, lilac and restrained burgundy tones create a clear but controlled result.
Brown or beige
